2026/08 - Practical AI for Game Production: Smarter QA, Support & Workflows (Tommy Thompson)

Based on multiple game projects Tommy Thompson has been involved in, AI for Game Production is a practical training program designed for game producers who want to understand how AI can be realistically integrated into modern production pipelines. Across four focused sessions, participants explore concrete applications in community management (sentiment analysis, toxicity detection, matchmaking, cheat detection), AI-powered QA pipelines (rule-based and ML-driven testing bots, performance profiling), and production support workflows such as information retrieval and project management tooling, with a strong emphasis on data quality and human-in-the-loop systems. The course is led by Dr. Tommy Thompson, founder of AI and Games, a respected AI consultancy for studios; a former AI researcher and lecturer, he is widely known for the long-running AI and Games YouTube series (since 2014) and his (excellent) industry newsletter. From August 31st to September 3rd - 10:00am-12:00pm every day (CET Time) - Remote training I - AI in the Game Industry: Introduction & Overview II - Data-Driven Community Engagement and Support III - AI for Quality Assurance Pipelines IV - Training AI for Production Support

Objectifs de la formation

  • Understand the AI landscape in games : Distinguish between traditional AI systems, machine learning, and generative models and identify their strengths, limitations, and production implications.
  • Identify practical AI use cases for production : Recognize where AI can create measurable value across community management, QA pipelines, and production support workflows.
  • Leverage AI for community and live operations : Understand how sentiment analysis, toxicity detection, matchmaking systems, and cheat detection can support healthier player ecosystems.
  • Integrate AI into QA pipelines : Evaluate rule-based and ML-driven bots, AI-assisted performance profiling, and hybrid human-in-the-loop testing approaches.
  • Improve production workflows with AI tools : Explore AI-powered retrieval systems, ticket consolidation tools, and generative support for non-player-facing production tasks.
  • Assess data and organizational readiness: Understand the importance of high-quality data, infrastructure, and cultural adoption for successful AI implementation in studios.
